Design System Redesign
UI, QA, Product Management
TL:DR
Vonage underwent its biggest rebrand in decades to symbolise its departure from a US landline seller company to a global communication platform with millions of users. My part in this huge effort was to be a member of the internal design team committee that oversaw an external agency's brand deliverables and to translate it into our product design system.
On this design, I’ve made improvements to an existing design system by:
Creating a strategy of how to translate a brand design guide into a product design guide
Coordinating QA sessions with product designers
Implementing a 8px design grid
Creating an accessibility friendly colour pallet
Creating a new sketch library
QAing the front-end code to tackle UI debt

GUIDELINES FOR PHASE ONE
Black and White are the main colours
Purple is a fall back colour only
Gradients are for interactions
Outlines and greys are for secondary actions and visual contrast
Red, Yellow, and Green should only be used for status displays
Double down on roundness whenever possible
If you need a visual element, use more text and fewer icons
Always use lots of white space
